Chapter 9

—Ethan, if you have no problem, I will stay in the pack to help with anything that arises —The prince adds, to which Ethan looks up.

—Of course, you will be of great help to my people, Prince Bardas.

The men nod, Ethan knew that his people would be safe if Eren’s son was there to protect them. Especially his daughter Adara, he was the one he was most worried about leaving unprotected. It was an albino wolf, and there had already been many rumors about albino wolves.

For that reason Deisy went after her, she believed that being in her pack of white wolves she would be better protected, but the alpha thought otherwise.

—I want you to take great care of my daughter during my absence, Bardas. She will be under your care.

“I’ll take care of her!” I promise you.

“Father,” Adara left the house. “My mother is ready, you should eat something and change your clothes,” she adds.

—I don’t need clothes, just something to eat and drink. I’ll leave when I’m done.

Later…

Ethan was recovered from his injuries and his energy was charged. The alpha wolf went up to the bedroom of his wife, who was sleeping soundly. He approaches her and takes out the bottle he had saved.

—Father, what is that?

—Your mother has to drink this potion to be able to make the trip to the mountain —She answers, uncovering the bottle.

—You’re not thinking about taking her to the witch, are you? —She looks at him as if he has gone crazy.

—That’s what I plan to do.

He leans towards his wife and carefully pours the contents down his wife’s throat. Suddenly, Shery begins to convulse.

“Mom,” the brunette shouts, approaching her, but her father stops her so she doesn’t touch her. What are you doing? She is dying.

-It is not like this.

—You are killing her, you trusted that witch to kill her.

“Your mother will die tonight if I don’t take her,” he answers, staring at her wife.

And it was when she stopped convulsing, Shery’s face regained its usual color, she no longer had dark circles under her eyes, nor pale lips; Her cheeks took on a beautiful pink color. She practically seemed cured.

—Is she cured?

—For a very short time, the effect will not last long. I have to leave.

Ethan k****s his daughter’s forehead, and then takes his wife in his arms. But this one she didn’t wake up, she seemed like she had fallen into a deep sleep, it was like she was in a coma.

Upon reaching the outside, Ethan transformed into a wolf. And with the help of JB and Bardas, they managed to hold Shery on her back. As big as he was, the brunette was quite comfortable.

The alpha looks at his family and lowers his ears a little, making a sound in his throat.

The wolf began to run towards the forest, getting lost in the bushes and no longer being seen by others.

He would not stop at any time, his priority was to arrive before the moon rose. Shery was well restrained, it would not be a problem for her to run with all her strength.

After a few hours of travel, the alpha had finally reached the peak of the mountain. He looks at his wife behind her back and notices that she is beginning to pale. She didn’t have that much time anymore, the effect was wearing off.

He continued running, and that was when he realized that there were no thorns in his path. Everything was clear, which made it easier for him to get to the lake. It didn’t take him long to reach it, finding it just as crystal clear.

He moved along the shore, just as he did the other time, until he reached that enormous rock. He immediately stopped, and waited, that was the place he had to get to.

“You’re quite late, wolf,” Ethan turns around and sees the witch emerge from the trees. I told you the potion didn’t last long.

-“What does that mean?”

—A little more, and your wife dies.

He looks back and notices that a lot of b***d was coming out of Shery’s nose. She had become very pale, and her dark circles appeared instantly. Distraught, he turns into a human at the same time as he grabs her wife and ends up carrying her in her arms.

—Sherry! Shery!, love, please react.

—She can’t hear you anymore, she has fallen into a deep sleep.

-You lied! —Answers with anger—. “You said you would save her, that the potion would last long enough,” he adds, hugging his wife.

—Don’t worry, wolf. “Bring it,” he orders, as he sets off on his way. Nothing and no one dies in my domain unless I so wish.

Ethan obeyed and followed the witch with his wife in his arms. She was so cold, despite wearing warm clothes. As soon as the alpha looked up, he noticed a shack covered in mold and old branches, then he looked back and didn’t see the rock, it was strange, since they had just moved away from it.

Nothing made sense on that mountain.

Upon entering that gloomy place, he realized that it was the same house where he had been before.

—Lay her down there—Ethan leaves her on what looked like a bed, but was made of branches.

-And now that?

—You will go for that heart and that head, your moon will stay here with me.

“But…” He looks at her worried. She is dying.

—She won’t die, she is under my spell. What you have given her to drink is the essence of my own b***d, she will not die, wolf.

-Good.

He kneels before her and tries to k**s her lips…

—I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Right now, Shery is a chest full of poison. If you k**s her, you will die —Ethan looks at that woman with hatred —. Don’t you find that exciting?

—I’ll come back for you, love. “I promise you,” he whispers.

As he stands up, he observes the witch’s outstretched hand and a huge cut could be seen.

“A pact, it’s a pact, wolf.” He holds out his hand to her, and she immediately squeezes his hand. The contact was painful, but then it passed. Your wife’s life belongs to me until the day you bring me Lucía’s head and heart.

—That was not the agreement.

Ethan turns around, when she stops him.

—How will you save Shery’s life? “You haven’t asked me for anything else for her.” He looks at her over her shoulder.

—I have enough of your b***d without having to ask you for anything.

He moved along the shore, just as he did the other time, until he reached that huge rock. He immediately stopped, and waited, that was the place he had to get to.

He turns around and looks at where his wife was, Shery was submerged and naked in a pool of b***d. Ethan’s heart pounded when he saw her in that state.

-What the hell is that?

—Your b***d, my dear alpha. What did you believe? What was I going to waste all that precious b***d you lost by coming here?

He looks confused at the place where his wife lay, was all that b***d hers?

—The first drop you lost with that thorn was just a test for me, I wanted to know what kind of wolf you were. Your b***d is very sweet and pure, that’s why you were accepted by me. The rest that you lost, I collected for my own pleasures and benefits. Everyone who enters here pays a small fee, wolf.

—Luckily you are strong, and you managed to make it to the end without bleeding to death.

Ethan frowns, looks back, observes that the witch points him to a place and that’s when he is shocked by what he was seeing. They were the bones of a huge wolf, but who?

From the peak of the mountain, far away from the witch’s hut, the alpha in his wolf form focused on Eren’s domain. He couldn’t do that hunt alone, it was impossible for him to manage to hunt Lucian with his powers.

He needed support, and the only one who had enough power to destroy that bastard was Eren. Between the two of them they would hunt down Lucian and end his tyranny.

That wolf could no longer stay alive, and if his wife’s existence depended on him, then; I would rip his f*****g heart and his stupid head out of him.

—“I’m going to find you Lucía, wherever you hide, I will find you and I swear I will kill you.”

The wolf began to run in the direction of the castle, he was fully sure that he would have the support of his friend.

Likewise, Eren had hunted Lucía for many years. But this time, they would do it with every chance of winning. And now more than ever they would find him, since at least he had a direction in which to search.
