The Lycan’s King Breeder -
Chapter 98
Maximus
POV.
As the door swung open, we all looked towards the entrance, our hearts pounding with anticipation. The guards who were about to kill Agent Brown froze in their tracks, looking towards the new arrivals with confusion and fear. "Who the hell are you?" one of the guards shouted, gripping his weapon tightly.
But instead of answering, the men from my army charged towards the guards, their swords drawn and ready for battle. The room erupted into chaos as our captors tried to fight back, but it was no use. My army was too strong and determined. Titus, my trusted advisor and friend, was at the forefront of the charge, leading my army with valor and poise. His sword gleamed in the dim light of the room as he cut down any guard foolish enough to stand in his way. Our eyes met for a brief moment, and I could see the determination and courage that burned within him.
I smiled at him, a small gesture to encourage him and let him know that he was not alone in this battle. He returned the gesture by showing me his thumb, a symbol of his unwavering loyalty and commitment to our cause.
With a renewed sense of purpose, Titus charged forward, his soldiers following closely behind, their swords slashing through the air with precision and skill. And with each passing moment, the sounds of battle grew louder, the clash of steel ringing through the room like a symphony of war.
It was a glorious sight to behold, an army of brave soldiers fighting for their freedom and their leader, with Titus at their helm. And I knew, in that moment, that victory was within our grasp.
I looked towards Felicity, tears streaming down her face. "Is this your army?" She asked, her voice shaking with emotion.
I gave her a weak smile. "Yes, it is," i replied, my eyes filled with relief.
The battle was quick and brutal, but our rescuers emerged victorious. As they untied us one by one, I couldn't help but feel grateful and relieved.
"Thank you," Felicity said, looking towards Marcus my adviser and right arm, and the other soldiers. "Thank you for rescuing us."
I took her hand, my eyes filled with emotion. "I'll always protect you, Felicity. No matter what."
Marcus gave her a small nod, his face filled with pride. "It was our pleasure, Lady Felicity," he said. "We could not allow our beloved leader to be taken."
I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction, knowing that my people were willing to fight and die for me. I approached Felicity, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "We will rebuild, all" I said softly. "We will make sure that this kind of oppression never happens again."
She looked up at me, her eyes filled with determination. "I believe you," she said, her voice strong. "And I will fight alongside you until the end."
Together, we watched as my army celebrated their victory. And in that moment, I knew that we were destined for greatness.
As we were all getting up, I noticed that Alpha Melezo was nowhere to be found.
"Where's Alpha Melezo?" I asked, looking around frantically.
Maximus shook his head. "I don't know. He must have escaped during the battle."
As we stepped out of the cave, the sun shining bright above us, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. A new chapter had just begun, and we were ready to face whatever lay ahead. Felicity POV.
As soon as we got out of the cave, Kyle charged towards Agent Brown and tackled him to the ground. The others rushed over to separate them before things got out of hand.
"What the hell, man?" yelled Kyle as he had Agent Brown pinned down. "You betrayed us!"
"I-I'm sorry! I didn't know what I was doing," Agent Brown stammered.
"You sold us out to them," Kim chimed in angrily. "How could you do that?"
Agent Brown hung his head in shame. "I thought that if I handed over Maximus, they would let me go. I was desperate!"
"You were stupid," declared Adrian, shaking his head in disgust. "We trusted you, and you stabbed us in the back."
Maximus stepped forward, raising his hand to silence the argument. "It's alright," he said in a soothing voice. "Let's not fight amongst ourselves. We have bigger things to worry about." "But he betrayed us!" Kyle protested.
"I know, but we need to move forward," Maximus replied. "We've got a lot of ground to cover before we get to the safe house. We can't afford to waste any more time."
Despite the lingering tension, we got back to our horses and continued on our journey, with Agent Brown now carrying the weight of his betrayal on his shoulders.
As we rode towards the safe house, Agent Brown lagged behind the group, hanging his head in shame. His betrayal weighed heavy on his conscience, and he knew he could never make it right.
But as we approached a narrow bridge with a raging river below, disaster struck. The bridge began to give way, and one of the horses, with Kim still on it, fell into the river.
Without hesitation, Agent Brown jumped off his horse and dived into the water, saving Kim from certain death. He managed to cling onto a branch, but the current was too strong, and he knew he wouldn't make it out alive.
As we all watched in horror, he looked up towards us, a peaceful smile on his face. "I'm sorry for what I did," he called out, his voice barely audible over the roar of the water. "Please forgive me."
And with that, he let go of the branch, allowing the water to carry him away.
Silence fell over the group as we watched Agent Brown disappear into the tumultuous river. Tears streamed down our faces as we realized that he had sacrificed himself for us.
"He's gone," Kim whispered, her voice breaking with emotion.
Maximus stepped forward, placing a comforting hand on Kim's shoulder. "He died a hero," he said solemnly. "Let us honor his sacrifice by continuing on his mission and defeating our enemies."
And with that, we continued towards the safe house, carrying the memory of Agent Brown and his sacrifice with us. Though he had betrayed us, he had redeemed himself in the end and saved our lives, and we would never forget him.
