The Prince’s Abused Mate – Chapter 30

Amara Pov

We all turn to Debra, the girl is an attention seeker. ” Let’s go,” G****s Sophie, sending a glare in Debra’s way before grabbing my hand, but I’m standing right here, why is my heart beating so loudly at what Debra says, The Prince’s eyes are cold on her but the girl is still smiling at him. I glance over to Jay, Cole, and Lyon, they look just as confused but their eyes are on Ahyan.

Suddenly, a cold shiver runs down my body, it can’t be good.

Happy holds my hand and I nod, we start to walk while I think about the Bet she was talking about but why did the boys have that expression on their faces? Didn’t they know about Ahyan making any bets?

” How does it feel Amara?” She calls me, Happy, and Sophie exchanges a glance and I squint my eyes. Debra is walking toward us,

” Debra, go to class,” Cole says in a deep angry voice. I turn to face her, the Prince’s gaze is intense on me as if searching for something unknown to him. He diverts it to Debra but he’s still unable to say anything, he just looks conflicted.

” I just wanted to congratulate my baby for winning the bet you guys made,” She says sweetly to Cole, her girls behind are smiling triumphantly, arms crossed against their chest. With trembling lips, I ask

” What Bet?”

Ahyan walks up to me, ” Amara, I’ll talk to you l-later okay? Sophie take her away,”

Take me away? why should I go away? Debra is looking at me with a smug expression like she has won a match. I push Ahyan out of my way and face Debra.

” What does a Bet have to do with me?” She squints her eyes

” They didn’t tell you?” She gasps exaggeratedly, putting her hand on her chest ” Guys, she should know,”

I growl at her and she gasps again, I’m getting impatient with her.

” Ahyan what’s going on?” I twist my neck to look at him. He takes a long time to answer.

” Debra just wants to disturb you. Go please,” his gaze is begging and his voice is soft but no, I’m not going anywhere until I know what is going on, and whatever it is, Sophie and Happy know about it. I glare at them but they cast their gaze to the floor.

” Tell me what’s going on, Debra,”

she smiles widely, and backs away from me, ” Have you asked yourself why the Prince suddenly took an interest in you? You’re a nobody, just a f*****g fun bet,” She says and my eyes sting with tears, however, I don’t cry.

” Debra, that is low even from you,” Jay says, his eyes shining with what looks like anger. Everyone tries to interrupt her as she clears her throat to continue.

” Enough, all of you!” I snap. They go silent.

” Thank you for that, Amara,” She says slowly, fixing her hair. Ahyan is standing there stifly.

” Prince Ahyan only got close to you to make you fall in love with him and f.uck you, it was a bet he and his friends made,” She informs me, I’m still trying to process what she is saying. My whole world is spinning and I stagger, using the wall for support.

Ahyan is trying to say anything but I can’t hear him yet I see his lips moving. All the text messages, the calls, dates, and our trip, all he wanted was to get a f**k, to win a bet?

I turn to Sophie and Happy, ” Did you know?” I ask, barely a whisper. They nod slowly and I chuckle painfully. How long did they? Were they part of it?

” I found out today from Natalia who overheard the guys and told Happy about it, we were going to tell you about it tomorrow,” Sophie explains, coming to my side. She hugs me but I pull away, I don’t want any comfort right now. My body is shaking and I’m surprised my legs can hold me up at this point, I want to cry, scream and just for the earth to open up and swallow me whole. And just when I thought it can’t get worse.

The bell sounds, and as students leave, she manages to get their attention, I didn’t even see how she got down there! A dozen people are surrounding her and she is telling them what happened.

” That f.ucking b***h,” Sophie grabs her phone and begins to type quickly. What is just doing? But I’m not paying attention to her right now.

” What are you doing?” I hear Happy ask.

” Damage control, I don’t want people starting to harass her after this so I’m telling them that she was also dared to have s*x with the Prince,” She explains and the others support her in that, I can’t even focus on all of them, my gaze is Prince Ahyan.

He keeps whispering he’s sorry but I shake my head, unable to believe he’d be capable of doing that to me.

” I’m sorry, I didn’t know you back then but Amara I did feel attraction to you, now we know why,”

He says agitated, cupping my face. Tears pour from my eyes and my chest constricts.

” What do you mean you know why you were attracted to her?” Cole asks, he has a knowing look in his eyes.

” She’s my mate,” Ahyan says, eyeing me.

” And he doesn’t want me,” I spat out, anger coursing my body.

” What kind of a selfish f.ucker are you?!” Sophie shouts exasperated. His friends are not too shocked by this information.

He keeps explaining and asking for forgiveness but I’m quiet, I feel numb and I don’t think I can produce any words now.

” Don’t touch her!” I hear Happy growls, pulling me from there. Now, everyone is shouting and yelling at each other, I start to walk from there, I hear everyone’s phone chimes but I don’t bother to check mine. Soon, I reach the garden, walking aimlessly out of the school premises, my head is throbbing and I can feel whispers and gossip about me but I ignore it all, news does spread fast in this school. I find a spot just after the school gates and sit in the drainage.

I need to calm myself right now, but a sob escapes my lips as Ahyan’s face plays in my mind, another sob, and another until I begin to cry loudly. I don’t even care who sees me at this point. My head is in my lap as I continuously cry. I feel arms on me, It’s Ahyan but I don’t look at him.

” I’m so sorry, I’m sorry,” He keeps repeating, I can feel his emotions and agitation.

” I didn’t mean to hurt you, I can’t see you like this, Amara, I’m truly sorry,” He whispers, I scoff. Getting myself from the drainage into the road, Ahyan’s eyes are red. His chest is falling up and down.

” I wanted to tell you but I couldn’t. It was too late,” He says in a broken voice.

” I don’t want to see you Ahyan,” I say and turn on my heel. I hear him let out a deafening growl, and as I walk away from him, I hear agonizing screams, I want to turn back to comfort him, but I suck in a breath and continue to walk away. I notice a lot of people are giving me pointed looks probably because of the tears on my face but I could care less. My phone is ringing and I’m receiving a lot of text messages, I grab it from my bag to put it on silent but a man bumps into me, I narrow my eyes getting an odd feeling when I feel a cloth is pressed over my nose and it all fades to dark.

Ahyan Pov

I’m going to kill that f.ucking b.itch, why did she tell my mate about the bet and how did she know about the bet? My heart wrenched when she was crying and all I wanted was to hold her close but she didn’t let me.

After almost choking Debra to death, I go back at the castle, I feel strange. Today I found my mate and she hates me. I messed up, I f*****g messed up. The servants greet and bow to me as I walk to my suite. Reaching there, I slid against the wall and sit on the floor, thinking about everything that happened.

I don’t know how long I stayed there but at some point, the door opened and I heard my mom speak. She crouches next to me and tips my chin so that I’m facing her, even in the darkness, I can see her concern-filled eyes.

Without a word, she wraps her arms around me, slowly I hold her back, feeling the emotions I didn’t know I had. I really needed my mother’s hug.

” I’m sorry,” I breathe, a few tears escaping my eyes, I know she is aware of what happened at school, everyone is now.

Mother shakes her head and pulls away, giving me her hand to help me up, we walk to my salon and sit there.

A few maids bring in some tea and food for me but I’m not hungry.

” Your brother told me what happened today,” Mom says softly.

” You’re disappointed in me again,” I whisper, not recognizing the sound of my voice to my ears.

” You’ve never disappointed me, son,” She comes to sit next to me.

” Hmm,”

” Did you know that she was your mate when you made that Bet?” I nod, not wanting to lie because I know she always sees right through me. I wasn’t too sure but I later was. Mother sighs and drinks her tea.

” You don’t want her? “

” I’ll hurt her, mother, I always hurt people, even if I don’t intend to,”

” That’s not true, Ahyan you are good, why do you doubt that?” She asks,

” Let’s ask Keila, shall we? Or the innocent people who died in the fire started,” Mom’s face falls, When I was sixteen, I got attached to a woman older than me and we started dating, I might even go as far as saying I loved her. We were so close and a few months later, I caught her cheating on me with two humans, I felt betrayed. I couldn’t control my anger, I set her house on fire and watched while she and her lovers burn. Unknown to me, there had a drug operation in the very house and they were workers that day, I tried to tame the fire but my emotions were not calm so I failed to contain it and innocent people died. That’s why this love s**t is not for me.

‘ Technically, they were not innocent. They were drug mules,’

” They were criminals,” Mom shrugs her shoulders. I glance at her but she smiles, making me smile too.

” How about that Alpha and his luna of the Moonshine pack? I killed them,”

” If you didn’t, your dad would have, they were a pain plus that man was a pedophile, and his wife covered for his evil deeds. You saved your little sister,” She says, thinking about what that man almost did to Venice makes me angry. I sigh and lay my head on her shoulder.

” What about the south forest, I burnt half of it in a fit of anger when I was fourteen, animals and those rogues died, Mom,”

” Those rogues were planing an attack against us and you unknowingly saved us from that attack. And have you gone there recently, we are putting a mall that will bring more income and employment to our people,” She answers.

” What about-“

” Okay enough!” she cuts me.

” Amara hates me,” I sigh. She gently pushes my head off her shoulder and looks at me.

” Do you truly regret your actions against her?” She asks and I nod. I didn’t want to hurt her, the bet was stupid, and I know better.

” Apologize to her then, let her know just how truly sorry you are, and give her time to heal, her trust was broken,” She says gently, I nod.

The maid walks back in and tells mother something.

She gets up and k****s my forehead ” I love you, my baby, I’ll check up on you tomorrow. Eat and rest, no leaving the castle, okay?”

I nod and watch her leave but remember to ask,

” Mom, what do I do about the bond?”

She turns to me and smiles ” It’s up to you, only you know how you feel for her and I hope you make the right decision, I just want you to be happy so do what makes you happy,” She says, I nod and she k****s her fingers and waves at me before exiting the salon.
