Ahyan and I walk back to Sophie, our fingers still interlocked and a lot of students are whispering and looking at us but we don’t care, we go back to where I left Sophie but she’s not there and since it’s almost lunchtime, I figured she’s at the cafeteria and indeed, she is at Ahyan’s table with Cole, Happy, Lyon, Brian, and Jay. They all stop talking once they notice us and gape, each one has a different expression on their face. Happy has his hands on his mouth like Sophie, while Cole has a knowing smirk on his face, and Jay and Lyon won’t stop gaping at us and pointing at our locked fingers. Brian is clapping and two other guys I see around their small group while the girls look shocked, others even angry.

” Man, do you guys walking around school like that make it official?” One of them asks. I look at Ahyan whose eyes were already on me, he nods and pecks my lips.

He clears his throat and goes to the center of the room, commanding everyone’s attention.

The cafeteria goes silent and all eyes fall on him. ” Everyone, I’m happy to tell you that I found my mate, her name is Amara Adamson and I like her so much,” He says looking at me with a kind of gentleness, I smile and put my fingers on my lips. ” And I ask her out to be my girlfriend… Officially,”

Everyone is silent, but soon a lot of things happen at once, while other cheer and clap as Ahyan come to me, pulling me for a deep and long k**s, Debra and a few others growl and when we pull away, we hear a thud, I laugh, did Debra and Sheila just faint? No one is paying attention to them except Sheldah and two other blonde girls, even Natalie doesn’t look at them, instead, she’s clapping along with the others.

” I can’t believe he did that!” Sophie squeals as she pulls me to sit next to her, Ahyan and his friends are talking as well. And our eyes meet, I blush and focus on my friends.

” I know, I can’t believe it,” I breathe still feeling nervous.

” Ahyan has never had a girlfriend or at least one we know,” Happy says.

” Debra and a few girls have been rushed to the school clinic,” Nat giggles. Soon, our servers bring out a lot of food and put it on the table, and as soon as they are done, we begin to eat, happily and chat, Ahyan’s friends won’t stop teasing him about being tied to one woman

” If Amara is the woman, then I don’t mind because I’m going for the best time of my life,” He winks at me.

” I just can’t believe it,” Jay murmurs, he has a faraway look in his eyes, and I notice a smile on his lips as he looks down at his phone but he shakes his head and puts it in his pocket before going back to talk to Lyon.

We are eating and Ahyan keeps making eyes with me, and I turn red every time. I try to distract myself and look everywhere but at him.

Lunch is over but Sophie and I don’t go to class instead I go home, to see Lulu. I’m hesitant to press the doorbell so I get my phone to call her. It rings twice before she answers.

” Hi, Mara,” I smile hearing her happy voice.

” Hey, baby, where are you?” I ask. She tells me that she is in having a playdate with Liam and Venice at the castle, I nod and go back but the door opens.

” Amara,” Alice smiles and surprisingly comes to hug me

” Are you coming back home?” She asks, holding me tighter, slowly my arms snake around her as well but I pull away quickly.

” No Alice, I came to see Lulu but she’s not home,” I say. She nods.

” Princess Venice invited her to the castle, she was very excited to go so I took her,” She informs me.

She grabs my hand and guides me to sit on the veranda couch. one of the maids asks to make us a snack and I agree. Alice smiles at me and holds my hand.

” I know we are not related by b***d but I want you to know that I consider you family and I’m sorry about treating you like s**t all these years,” She says, ” When Mom died, it was just so hard and we all took it out on you,”

I nod, feeling my eyes well with tears, and I wipe them as soon as they drop. This is Alice, never did I ever think she will regret her actions against me.

” Thank you for apologizing, Alice,” I say, with a tiny smile of my own. The maid comes back with a tray full of biscuits and cake, with tea.

She puts the food on the small table she brought out and pours us tea.

” Thank you,” We say in unison.

These are the biscuits Mother used to make for us when we were younger, I smile as I put one in my mouth, and close my eyes as I chew one slowly, moaning.

” So good,” Alice m***s. We are eating and chatting for the first time since mom died, she tells me she got a job at one of the pack’s companies and is doing well for herself and can provide for Lulu and herself. Dad is still in Spain, chasing after Veronica but calls to check up on them while Lisa spends her days sulking and wallowing.

After a while, I decide to leave, and Alice drives me back to the castle.

“Is it okay If Lulu stays with me for the night?” I ask, she smiles and nods.

” Yes, plus, I have a date!”

” Really?! With whom?”

She shakes her head ” I’ll tell you once I know it’s solid,”

I nod and get out of the car, I watch her leave the huge driveway and I ask one of the servants where I can find Princess Venice.

I go to the garden where they are and I find them playing some game, they are busy chasing each other that they don’t notice me, Prince Axel is not further from them, he’s quiet and busy with his drawing as usual, and just like his elder brothers, he is always grumpy or has an indifferent expression.

I approach him quietly, he slowly twists his neck to me when I stand next to him, he only nods and goes back to his work. Theo and Axel have similar facial features to their father, while Prince Willian has his mother’s soft features, they are very handsome indeed.

I dare to peek at what Prince Axel is painting and I’m taken back, surprised that he did that, he painted the kids playing in the garden, but it’s the details that make me gasp as I admire it. It is amazing, it captures the blue sky, and the sun, I can see little Birdie’s smile as she plays with the doves on the side. He painted my sister smiling brightly at Liam, while Venice twirls and her hands spread out as she looks at the sun. Everything thing in this painting is detailed and realistic, he’s a professional!

He sighs satisfied and for the first time, I see something that resembles a smile on his lips.

With a wave of his hand, a servant comes and brings him new linen canvas and pencils before taking away the old equipment from the long table

” Guava juice,” He orders, his voice is deep and gruff. The male servant nods and walks away, I watch as he begins to draw, but this time, he keeps glancing at my sister. Making sure he gets every detail of her but Lulu doesn’t even notice as she keeps giggling and eyeing Prince William.

” You’re good,” I say at last.

” Thanks, Lady Amara,” He is polite but doesn’t look at me. I sigh and check for messages on my phone. I only have one from Ahyan, he just wanted to check up on me. I reply and we chat a little. When I look back at the drawing, he’s almost halfway done I think. My phone rings and I excuse myself to answer even though he doesn’t respond.

” Hey Happy,” I say, he has a problem with Brian

” Babe, I’m so done with him, he introduced me as a friend to his family,” He says in annoyance.

” Well, aren’t you?”

” well, do friends makeout or try to f**k?” He retorts.

” Just give him time, this is all new to him,”

We talk about his relationship until he feels better but a growl stops us, I end the call and rush to the kids who are gathered in a circle, they are looking worried.

” Lulu!” I shout as I run to them, Lushomo is lying on the grass, groaning in pain. I kneel next to her and inspect her.

” What is wrong with you! You almost hurt her!” Axel is growling at Princess William.

” Enough Axel, don’t make him feel worse than he does,” Princess Venice’s soft voice sounds as she looks at her elder brother. She crouches down and holds her hand.

” Well, he should,” Princess Axel’s voice is laced with anger, and his pupil dilates and is glaring at his brother.

” It was an accident, she asked me to …to create fire,” He explains in a shaky voice, eyeing his brother warily. Just what is going on between these two?

” I’m sorry, Lulu,” He says. I touch Lulu’s forehead and ask,

” Are you alright, sweetie,” She only nods with a small smile.

” I slipt while moving away from the fire and hit my head, now I feel a little drowsy,” She explains then her eyes move between the two Princes before they settle on Prince William.

” It’s fine, Liam, it was just an accident,” and to Prince Axel, she glares at him

” It was an accident, why did you shout at him,”

Now Prince Axel looks even angrier, his eyes narrowing but before he can say a word, Princess Dove cries loudly.

” Is she going to go to live with the angels?”

” Argh, Birdie no. Mom explained to you already what happens when one goes to live in heaven,” Princess Venice rolls her pretty blue eyes but little Dove smiles and looks relieved as she pats my sister’s forehead with her small hand.

” Wow! my headache is gone, thanks Birdie!”

The little Princess giggles sweetly as she looks at her hands.

” Magic hands!” She squeals as she gets up, running to go where she left her flower basket.

Seeing my confused expression, Venice puts a hand on my arm ” Princesses in this family are… talented,”

I sigh and get up just as both Princes extend their hands to help Lulu up, but she chooses to take Prince William’s hand. Smiling at each other as he brushes her hair with his fingers, my sister’s cheeks darken and a smile graces her lips.

my eyes immediately go to Prince Axel, his fist are clenched and he’s heaving, he looks very imposing at this moment. He turns and walks away, ignoring his sister’s calls.

” Axel, you promised to play volleyball with us, remember!”

Could it be that Prince Axel likes my sister, but she likes his brother, hmm?

They continue having fun while I take a seat close by, watching them. Birdie gives me a flower crown and I kneel as she puts it over my head

” Look, you’re also a Princess!” She exclaims, clapping her hands in excitement.

The sun is going down and we all go inside the castle, straight to their playroom, we are having so much fun playing cards when I suddenly feel a sharp pain in my back and legs, I cover my hand with my fingers, muffling the scream that threatens to leave my mouth as the pain intensifies.

” The next one to dance is Birdie,”

” Why me!”

” Because you lost, dum dum,” Prince William tells her, the girl frowns then sighs. Getting to her feet and choose a song from the dancing machine

” Dance with me, Amara,” Dove grabs my wrist, I force a smile and shake my head. I try to get up but I fail, my body is hot and my arms are aching.

I feel hands around my arms, helping me up. It’s Prince Theodore. With his help, I manage to leave the room without a fuss, and he quickly takes me outside. I fall to the floor as a scream tears from within me

” What is happening,” I cry as I curl into a ball. It hurts so much

The Prince crouches down, and through my blurry vision, I see his smile

” You’re shifting,”
