Amora Pov

After a long day of boring meetings and listening to my subjects talk about the war and how we are winning because of the joined nations, I started to miss Prince Theodore. The bond between us keeps getting stronger. I look at Simon, my fiance. He gives me a tiny smile and asks everyone to exit the room. The Dragon king stands up and walks toward me, he extends his hand and I take it hesitantly

I smile tiredly at him, ” You miss your mate?” He asks.

Despite being one of the most influential and powerful kings among the nations, he still reminds humble and kind, so it would be easy to fall for him, I hope I do one day.

I smile and caress his face with my fingers, he’s easily the most handsome man in the Nation with brown hair, beautiful hazel eyes with sharp features, and an athletic body. He puts his hands on my side and connects his lips to mine, I k**s him back. Our k**s is sensual and tenderizing but it’s missing something. He’s not Theodore, he’s not my mate. I shudder and take steps back, his eyes are gentle.

” What is it?”

” I- I can’t,” I say quietly, he nods and directs me to the throne room. I take my seat and close my eyes.

” Do it,” I hear him say, I open my eyes and face him.

” What?”

” Your mate, be with him,” I am taken by surprise but Simon’s face is determined. Breaking my engagement will leave my Nation vulnerable to attacks, I get up from my seat and walk to the window, I love to stand here, it gives the best view of the Nation.

” You know I can’t.”

” Queen Amora if you are scared that we won’t be allies anymore, don’t be,” He says. I tilt my head, wanting him to explain more and he does.

” We can still remind allies, to work together against our enemies even without the engagement,” He explains further.

I smile and extend my hand to him, he k****s it and smiles

” I love you, Amora but I know you will never love me back,” He tells me.

I thank him and we start preparing for the cancellation of the contract start. The door opens and our chancellors come in, we tell them our decision and they are in supporting us, however, Christopher and other senates interject. After convincing everyone, we leave it at that. The council bows their head to us when we leave.

” See you, Queen Amora,” Says Simon as he gets into the car. I nod and wave him goodbye.

In the evening, I go to the bedroom for some much-needed rest but sleep doesn’t come easy. I keep turning and tossing, my heart urging me to call Theo, he hasn’t called me in two days. I grab my phone from the charger and type a message to him but I erase it quickly and put the phone back. My phone dings

Theodore Altamonte: I can see you’re typing. Miss me, Sami?’ I almost roll my eyes, this man is too cocky for his good. ( Sami English translation; Mine)

Amora: Keep wishing, Prince.

Theodore Altamonte: I know you miss me, I miss you too, sthandwa sami,’ I smile at the nickname, it means my love.

Amora: I do miss you a little.

Theodore Altamonte: am I reading this right?’ He immediately starts to facetime me but I don’t answer.

‘ Answer, I want to see him,’ Comes my dragon’s sweet voice. I press accept and I almost forget how to breathe, my mate is looking very handsome, his back is pressed against the wall and his hair is cluttered, my gaze lingers on his full lips and I swallow as my core moistens. He smirks, making him look so hot.

” Sthanswa sami,”

” Prince Theo,” I nod.

” Will you stop with the formalities? I thought we were past that stage already. Call me Theo or any sweet pet name,”

I chuckle and shake my head, he frowns and I can k**s him right now if I could.

” How are you doing?” I ask, his eyes look sad.

” What do you think? My mate is getting married in a month and to a man who isn’t me,” He sighs, running a hand through his hair.

” Will you come to stop the wedding like they do in movies?” I ask, curious.

” I want to do that, oh Amora, I really do but I can’t be selfish. You have a duty to your people as I do mine that is why I understand your cause,” He speaks softly, making my heart break and my respect for him go up. That’s a thing about Theodore, he has told me so many times that he loves and wants to be with me but he understands that my Nation and the safety of my people should come first.

” But would you like it if I did?”

I give him a tiny smile and nod. I would love that so much.

” Theodore I need to tell you something,” I start, my heart is racing and I can’t help the smile that begins to curl on my lips.

” What is it?”

” Say it, Theo,” I smile, he knows what I want to hear him say. He smirks, pleased.

” Sthandwa Sami… what is it?” He rephrases his question.

” I’m not getting married,” Theo froze, I try to wave on the screen, is it on hold? Did he even hear me?

” Simon canceled the ENGAGEMENT!” I shout at the top of my lungs, I watch as his face breaks into a beaming smile and I swear I saw tears in his eyes.

” H- how, why? You’re not kidding, are you? Amora if this is a joke then it’s too cruel even for you,” He is spouting now, shaking his head.

” No, sami, It’s true,” I cry in happiness, I’m so happy! this is when I’m feeling it HAPPINESS! telling my mate that our path is clear, this is when I feel happy emotions ebullient and tears of joy run down my face.

” But what about the Eastern Nation, Amo-” I cut him

” All good, we already discussed that and the council agreed. Do you know what this f*****g means? You and I can be together, Sthandwa!”

” YES!” He screams.

We discuss some more and celebrate before I finally sleep. I dream about my mate and the joyful life we’ll live together. Sthandwa sami

Jay’s Pov

I watched my mate sleep for hours, I don’t know if I’ll ever see her perfect little face again so I made sure to imprint all her features in my mind, I don’t want to forget a thing about her. She stirred a little and I thought she will wake but she didn’t, just gripped the moon pendant I gave her close to her chest, I have the other half and when joined together, it makes a full moon that has two mated crescent wolves howling happily. I got the one with the she-wolf and I left her the one with the male wolf on it. I smiled and kissed her temple.

“Goodbye, my love,”

I felt something hot run down my face and I brought my fingers to my cheek, only to realize I was… crying. My wolf howled in sadness but we both know this is for the best, I hope once she’s of age and found out the truth, she will forgive this i***t man who doesn’t deserve her. I already said bye to my friends and promised to talk and we’ll see each other. My butler drives me to my private airport.

” Sir, the jet is ready for you,” An employee says, I don’t miss how she flirtatiously smiled at me but I ignored her, I’m not in the mood, so I nod after bidding farewell to my butler and follow the stewardess. I inhale the air one more time

” May you grow up to be strong and happy, minha linda garota,” I whisper, touching the other part of the pendant I gave to Venice.

‘ No, No, Jay,’ I thought I heard her faint voice in my mind but it’s impossible.
