It was such an astronomical sum. Even the people who had successful careers couldn't earn such an amount in a lifetime. Yet, Felix used that amount without hesitation, not for investment but simply to locate a single person. The saying "money made the world go round" had held true across the ages.

With such a high reward, many people would go crazy trying to claim it. Even if Sonny could disguise himself and hide in remote mountains, bounty hunters might track him down. So, he had to eliminate the threat at its root.

However, Felix remained calm and even laughed. "Really? My weakness? Sonny, you're overestimating yourself."

Sonny thought that Felix would not react.

"Well, don't be too confident. As I understand it, you're alone right now, but isn't there someone named Jack? He's been your good friend for many years. If he were to die- especially in agony-wouldn't you be driven mad with grief?"

In the next moment, Felix exploded in rage. "If you dare touch a hair on Jack's head, I'll hunt you to the ends of the Earth!"

With that, he hung up, which likely made Sonny believe he was rushing off to protect Jack. However, Felix remained in the same spot, unmoving, a smile playing on his lips.

"It's clear that even the Elders' Council is using Sonny as a pawn. What an idiot! And to think he's supposed to be one of the Thirteen Aces. It turns out he's not much at all!"

Despite saying that, Felix recognized the underlying threat.

The Elders' Council could mobilize young powerhouses like Solomon Gill and manipulate someone like Sonny as a mere tool. They were proving to be even more formidable than he had anticipated. However, given that their target was an apprentice of the miracle doctor, perhaps it was only natural they'd go to such lengths.

"We've apprehended Sonny, Mr. Zeller."

"Good. I'll head over now."

In Canraville, Felix entered a small, unmarked storefront and found Sonny sitting on the floor. The old man's face was deathly pale, as though he lacked even the strength to move a finger.

"You may go now," Felix said to a middle-aged man standing nearby.

"Yes, sir."

Despite his ordinary appearance, the middle-aged man had effortlessly subdued Sonny, who was one of the Thirteen Aces. It caused Sonny serious injuries. It was evident that anyone assigned by Felix's fellow apprentices was no ordinary person. "You don't seem surprised at all." Sonny, his expression complex, stared at Felix. "To think that I would end up being toyed with by a young brat like you after hiding all these years."
