Chapter 110

Julianna’s POV

“So Koko came up with this idea?” I asked.

“Yes, she did.” Chester replied.

I was walking down the hall and Chester and some warriors were behind us, as we discussed the most important and crucial things concerning the case of Baby Liam’s kidnap.

It was now a couple of minutes before the judgment for Henry and Scarlett was supposed to be given.

“What do you think about her plan?”

He asked me and I combed my hair with my fingers.

“Honestly, I think it’s a little out of the box, but it could work. It’s not like we have much choice anyways, the baby’s mother must be so heartbroken and the father too.”

“That’s true.” Chester affirmed, as our walking step became faster, in order to increase our pace.

I suddenly stopped and glanced at the warriors behind us. There was something that I wanted to discuss urgently with Chester and it was not something I could do with the warriors behind us.

“Don’t you think we will cover more ground if we split up from the rest of the gang?”

I glanced at the other warriors. Luckily for me, Chester got the hint and told them to search other parts of the palace.

When they were out of our hair, I held chesters hand and we walked out of the hallway down the stairs, then I grabbed the door where one of the maids kept their cleaning materials and even though the smell of soap immediately wafted into my nose, I tried to maintain a serious expression.

“Julianna, is something wrong?”

I crossed my hands together and then I looked into his eyes like a spear.

“Chester, I want you to tell me the truth, are we serious?”

“Of course we are.”

He responded immediately and I let out heavy sigh. “I heard about the note that was found in the baby’s crib. Do you have anything to tell me?” I asked him, never breaking his gaze with mine and then his shoulders dropped like a pack of cards.

“Julianna I regret it so much ok? I didn’t mean to, I was just like.. I just thought that it was her dying wish and I had to respect it a bit…”

“Chester that this woman attempted to commit murder and frame it on someone else! And then you let her be neighbors with the person that she planned everything with. How were you not thinking things would go wrong?”

I furrowed my brows then remembered that the reason I had asked him this was not to blame him, we all make mistakes.

“Julianna, I never meant for things to really be like this I mean it… And the only thing that I did was to allow them exchange letters with each other and nothing else, that was it…”

I cocked up an eyebrow with letters.

“Yes, letters.” He affirmed what he said before.

“They were just letters and nothing else? Who was taking the letter to each of them?”

“I was the one personally delivering it at a time, but then I got too busy and I decided to allow a guard do it. But I always made sure to look through the contents of their letters to make sure that they were not trying to send each other a secret message…”

I leaned over to him.

“Chester don’t misinterpret what I’m about to say, yes I am loyal to the King Alpha, there is no question about that, however you are the one that I put as my number one priority, so I am not going to reveal your mistake to him…”

He was about to thank me when I held up my hand and shook my head.

“I don’t need you to thank me, because of your mistake right now the princess is heartbroken and the entire Palace is in disarray and two criminals might get away with their crimes…”

I placed my hand on his shoulder.

“So I’m going to make some plans of my own to make sure that I can salvage the situation somehow and then hopefully by the end of today this will be all behind us like a bad dream….”

After saying that, I took my hand off his shoulder and gave him a hug.

“You are going to help me with my plan.. and from now on, whenever we do anything, we are going to talk to each other first… Okay?”

He blinked, and I glanced at my wrist watch. The trial was only ten minutes away now. I really hoped these plans worked, both Koko’s and mine.

Eleven minutes later, I was in the hall, seated among the Noble wolves. Of course the Queen mother and Koko had offered me to join them and while I would do anything to avoid getting sandwiched in their awkwardness, another reason that I did not want to join them was so I would not raise the eyebrows of other nobles who were in attendance of the trial.

The last thing I needed was a bunch of snobby nobles getting in my business, so I crossed my legs as the alpha King walked in. My heart was beating so hard that I thought it was going to break my rib cage, but I kept a blank expression.

My eyes went over to Chester and I could see that he was worried, but then I made a signal with my eyes telling him to calm down, the plan had to work.. it just had to.

“So the judges have held a long and considerable meeting, looking through the statements of the witnesses and the evidence that has been presented before us, with unbiased minds of course…” The Alpha King began.

Nobody was really panicking in the hall because even though the warriors were patrolling everywhere, it was only said that they were doing that because of security and nothing else, so that people would not be in panic.

“And while we were looking through everything, we realized that we had made a serious error that needs to be corrected…”

The alpha king was really something else, even in such a dire situation he made sure that his expression did not give anything away, he was calm and confident as he spoke making up for his beta and gamma who were obviously wearing their emotions on their faces.

“The suspects Scarlett and Henry are actually innocent, all the charges against them have been dropped because the mastermind of it all had been exposed, when we took a look through everything…”

That was when I finally acknowledged the Queen mother that was next to Koko. She suddenly started looking about as two guards approached her and then grabbed her by her hand pulling in front of the judging council while she kept screaming for them to let her go.

“What is the meaning of this? Are you people not aware that I am the Queen mother?”

“I am very disappointed in you mother. I have thought that you have changed, but you are still the same as before… We know that you were the one who actually is the real mastermind….”
