Chapter 144

Niyol’s pov

When I saw my mate in labour, it was as if the world beneath my feet was shattering; and there was nothing I could do but to hold her hand firmly.

Even when she screamed, when she came over and began to drag my shirt and slapped my shoulders. I knew she was not able to think straight in that condition and of course that was not something I needed to be told. so I held onto her and I whispered reassuring words in her ears.

I assured her that I was there for her as I had always been and I always would.

That I wasn’t going anywhere, after all we had made a promise to be with each other in the good times and the bad and this was definitely one of those times and that promised came to play.

Soon the screaming was over and the only sound that was head was the beautiful cry of my pup as it came into the world.

After she had been washed and wrapped in a clean white cloth, I asked if it was ok for me to hold her, and a midwife said of course it was. I felt my hands trembling a little with excitement, but I immediately controlled myself before I held my pup.

A few moments later, my mate woke up and she requested to hold the pup as well, and even though I felt a little reculent, of course I obliged to her wish.

There were already others in her ward after she had been taken out of the maternity ward. My mother and sister, Chester, Julianna and my Gamma, Ethan.

The ward room was very large which was why I allowed them inside and no one else because I did not want my Queen Luna to be suffocated.

Our baby girl was so beautiful and when my mate said her name, it fit her so perfectly.

After pouring congratulations on both me and my mate, the semi crowd finally left, and I was able to spend time with her, and the wonderful gift we just got from the benevolent moon goddess.

Looking at the precious gem that we had been given, sleeping so comfortably in her crib, made me wanted to shed tears of joy.

“She has a replica of your eyes…” My mate said to me in a soft voice.

“And she has your lovely nose…” I said and she clamped her palms over her nose.

“Are you complimenting me or just teasing me now?”

Wait, did she actually think I was teasing her?

“Koko I love every single inch of you, you’re absolutely perfect…”

She looked away with a blush.

“You’re really something else…” She said that she rested more on my chest, something that always made me feel like I was the one resting on someone else.

I didn’t know, it just made me feel comfortable, but my chest felt lighter in a strange way, knowing that she could rest there without a single worry in the world.

Well that was what I thought before she said something that made me completely shocked.

“Did I disappoint you?”

I was so taken aback by the question that I didn’t even know how to respond immediately, so I had to gather my wits before I was able to allow a question to pass by my lips in response to what she had said.

“What do you mean by ‘if you disappointed me,’ how can you ever disappoint me?” I said asked her.

My eyebrows were cheering up in worry, wondering what she meant by that, then she looked at me as she weakly fiddled her fingers together.

“Since I was pregnant, I’ve been hearing from a lot of sources that they usually prefer in the palace when the first born or even if it’s an only child, has to be a boy, so I was wondering if by having a girl… I… I…”

I placed two fingers on her cheek and I turned it for her to face me.

“Give me names.” I said in a very cold voice.

“Give me the name of every worthless piece of trash that told you that.”

She immediately started shaking her head.

“I can’t remember any specific person, but it felt like everyone was expecting me to have a boy and when I thought about it, it seemed like that was what I was supposed to do…”

Some people really had a lot of audacity! But what hurt me was that they were filthy words that entered my dear mate’s ears and she had to endure hearing trash like that all this time and she couldn’t even tell me.

This was exactly what happened with my previous mate, Erika, it wasn’t like I didn’t know that people were pressuring her, I knew that. Even my own mother was pressuring her, but what I didn’t know was that my love was not enough to keep her sanity afloat. I would not allow the same thing to happen to Koko.

“My dear don’t allow them to fill your head with their words, there are some people with the misguided conception that a male child is more important than a female, when both hold the same unique value. The fact that you have given me a girl does not make me love you any less or make me adore the child any less. As her father doing such would be completely absurd.”

This was something that I was personally fighting against, I heard of Alphas that had even gone as far as punishing their Lunas for having girl children, normally whenever any of them were caught, I would immediately strip him of their alpha title, but that was a rare occurrence because even the mother of the poor baby would be convinced that the child that she had was a mistake that she had to make up for, and that really made me sick to my stomach.

“My dear don’t worry at all, our baby will be well celebrated and the entire Kingdom will know her name; Aurora their future Alpha Queen…”

I would give her the grandest, most beautiful party in a way it would be making up for the mating ceremony that had been done in such a low-key manner which was not normal at all.

After all, as her mate, it was my duty to make sure that all of her bad memories were replaced with beautiful ones that she would remember for the rest of her life.

So while she was recovering in the Royal clinic, and being provided with all of her needs, I personally made sure that a grand beautiful party was being held for my little princess and my wonderful mate. I would proudly show off my daughter because I couldn’t imagine it any other way.

When my mate was finally discharged from the hospital and she saw the party that awaited her, her jaw was on the floor.

“You really don’t hold back when you put your mind into something do you?”

She said as she looked at the decorators, focusing on one that was hanging on some balloons that had “Aurora.”?Written on them.

“Of course I want everyone to know that I have the loveliest daughter in the world…”

I wrapped my hands around her and added. “And the loveliest mate too. I love you Koko…”

“I love you too.”
