Twice Rejected
Chapter 55

Niyol’s POV

I watched as my mother left me alone. I sat on the couch feeling dejected. It wasn’t like I was happy talking to my mother like that, but I really was pissed off by her character.

How can she still be feeling happy in a situation like this? She wasn’t the least sorry about whatever she just did.

“I am sorry, your majesty, for barging in like that. I was just feeling concerned when I heard about the news.” Henry said, bowing his head.

“It’s okay. I understand. Besides you have been very helpful to my mate during my absence. And like I said before, I really do appreciate it. Just don’t feel bothered.” I responded, waving him off.

“Thank you, your majesty.”

“Henry, do you know of any other place that she might be? Like a place she likes to go to? I know she doesn’t really go out, but perhaps she learned to go out these few days I was away?” I asked, desperate for anything to hold on to.

“None I can think of, your majesty. We always meet up at the garden whenever I came, because I didn’t want rumors flying around. The other time apart from the garden was at the supermarket.” He replied.

“I just don’t know where to search anymore. I went deep into the forest and discovered she was held captive in a cottage I never knew existed.” I replied.

“A… a cottage in the forest?” Henry asked.

“Yes. It’s strange that I never noticed it. It was located deep inside the forest. And there was a place where the air was very fresh. I believed she went there to get fresh air. The servants said she had been feeling stuffy these days and often went out for fresh air.” I analyzed.

“Yes. She really had been taking lots of walks these days. She even said she was going to visit the hospital with you immediately you came back.” Laci said, nodding her head.

“But then, how did she know such a place exist? I don’t even have an idea of the place. She doesn’t go out except with you and certainly not with Henry, because they only meet at the garden. The question is how did she know such a place existed?” I asked, looking confused.

“Maybe she found that place when she ran away from mother this morning. Remember the servants said she ran out as mother was accusing her.” Laci answered.

“That means the Queen mother came to purposely cause her misery so she could leave the palace. I also believe that as soon as she left the palace she was being traced. That would be the reason she was taken so easily.” Henry said.

“As much as that might be the case, there is one issue. Koko must have been told of that particular place. I can’t see why she would run all the way from the palace to such a far place in the forest.” I responded.

“I think you are right, brother. Someone definitely told her about that place in hopes of getting her there so they could kidnap her. This could only be done by someone who had a deep grudge on her. Someone who would benefit most from her disappearance..” Laci added.

“I think you are right. This was planned meticulously. If not, they won’t have left the place so soon.” Henry answered.

“Although it was planned meticulously, it’s strange that they would leave barely a few hours before her kidnap. If they really had it planned, it means they intended to keep her there for sometime before moving.” I said.

“Then why did they move?” Laci asked.

“They must have left because of me. They knew I was back and searching for her. They had to move her out of there before I could traced her scent.”

“But Niyole, doesn’t that mean there is a spy in this palace? Even if it was mother, there must be someone giving her information..” Laci asked.

There was silence as my mind processed that information. It wasn’t like I hadn’t guessed it before. It was just that I trusted my servants except there might have been new servants.

Thinking of that possibility, I called my Butler. “Had there been any new servant recently?”

“No, your majesty. There had been no new servant in the main quarter. But the Queen mother recently fired two servants and replaced them with new ones.” The butler said.

“Does those servants share duties with the servants in the main quarter?” I asked.

“Sometimes they do, if they are free. They help out on small chores before going back to their quarters.” He replied.

“I want you to find out about the last person to attended to her before she left this morning.” I said.

The butler bowed and left swiftly.

Few minutes later, my Butler came back. “Where is the servant?”

“Your majesty, the last person that served her already resigned this morning. Not long after Miss Koko got missing.” He said, his face filled with anxiety.

“Find her. Find that person wherever she is and bring her here! Right now!” I bellowed.

“Yes, your majesty,” my Butler said as he turned to leave.

“Is she a servant in this palace?” I asked, stopping my Butler’s movement.

“Your majesty, she is a servant in the Queen mother’s quarter. She was among the newly recruited workers. I already checked her information and it seems she was suggested by someone. I still haven’t gotten the identity of the person.” He explained.

Oh gosh! I really missed Chester, but I didn’t want to bother him because he had to finish some work over there.

If only he was here!

“Go and find her, including the person that recommended her immediately!” I ordered.

Henry bowed to me after my Butler left. “Your majesty, I will be on my way. It’s getting late already.”

“Thank you, Henry. You can leave.” I said, holding my head. It was splitting.

Laci walked up to me, “You have to be strong, Niyol. You need to eat something.”

“I will eat something, but I think I need to clear my head first.” I replied, standing up.

I made my way out of the palace and was about to go to the garden when I saw three people at the palace gate.

“Although it was planned meticulously, it’s strange that they would leave barely a few hours before her kidnap. If they really had it planned, it means they intended to keep her there for sometime before moving.” I said.

Wasn’t that my mother? I think that was Scarlett and Henry too. I knitted my brows, striding towards them.

Wasn’t that my mother? I think that was Scarlett and Henry too. I knitted my brows, striding towards them.

As I got closer, I heard my mother’s next words.

“I didn’t do it! How many times do I have to tell you? I just want you to be beside my son and comfort him in the absence of that cursed girl! I am not saying this because…”

I didn’t wait for her to finish the words before I roared in anger.

“Mother!”

She turned to look at me and I could see the fright in her eyes. My whole body was shaking with anger! It felt like I was being sliced into tiny bits.

I thought I could just ignore her for sometime. I tried to believe she couldn’t do it. I wanted to believe she was framed, but hearing her say all those words washed away every sentiment I had of her.

I couldn’t believe she was setting me up with someone! When I was still searching for my mate frantically!

“How dare you! It seems I let you off too easily. What did you say? She is finally gone? I gave you the benefit of doubt and every time you prove my decision wrong! You did it all along. And now, you want to give someone the chance to take over?!” I bellowed in rage.

I couldn’t believe she was my mother. A mother would never do such a thing! I wasn’t going to let her continue interfering with my life.

That instant I mind linked three of my cabinets members to come as fast as they could. Not too long later, they came rushing in.

Laci also rushed over too. Good, I had enough witnesses.

I knew it was going to hurt me, but I knew she would hurt me more if she stayed by my side. I had to come up with a decision right now.

Right that instant, I relinquish her of her status as Queen mother and banished her from my presence even as a mother.

“I, Alpha Niyol Heaven banish and strip you off every title! You are not allowed to step into the Palace from this moment.”

I knew the elders would be confused, but I didn’t have the time to think about whatever anyone wanted to say.

My mother rushed up to me and held me tightly, but I refused to look at her I removed her grip from my hand. Then, I turned around and left them without looking at anyone.

When I got to my chambers, I locked myself up. My thoughts were messed up and hurting. I was not only hurting from Koko’s disappearance, I was also hurting from my mother’s betrayal.

Suddenly, I felt another pain in my chest. My head was hurting and I felt like I would faint anytime.

What was happening? It seemed they are hurting her again! Those bastards! I would give them a merciless death!

I tried to communicate with my wolf which was howling in pain.

“Stay strong, Koko. I will come for you soon. Please, stay alive for me!”

With those thoughts in mind, I drifted to sleep.

The next morning, I woke up with an unbearable pain in my head. I couldn’t think straight as I growled loudly.
