Twice Rejected -
Chapter 80
Alpha Niyol’s POV
“Where did Chester go? I can’t find Julianna either.” Laci said as she entered the room.
“Julianna might have gone out to do more investigations on Koko’s case and Chester, maybe he is taking care of a few things. You can’t expect him to always be by my side, you know. He needs to live his own life.” I answered her.
“I feel like something isn’t right. Chester would never leave the palace without your permission.” She massaged her temple.
“Wherever he has gone to, he will be back. I trust Chester and I know he won’t involve himself in anything contrary to morals.” I said.
“True.” She answered and sat down.
Chester And I are not just Alpha and Beta. We are best friends and we’ve been like that for a very long time. Chester would never do anything that would make me unhappy. I stood up and paced around the room.
Although I was happy that they had tortured her for a while, but I was very worried and more worried why she shifted to her wolf then back. Could they be forcing her to shift? What do they want to use her for? I sighed and sat down.
Laci, who was looking through the window, gasped and I turned to look at her.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Come and see for yourself.” She answered.
I quickly stood up and went to look through the window. “It’s Chester and Julianna,” I said.
“What are they doing together?” Laci asked.
I didn’t want to have a negative thought. “Maybe they went out together,” I replied.
“But they used different cars.”
We watched as they smiled at each other before walking into the palace.
“Or is Chester the man in Julianna’s life?” Laci asked and I almost chuckled.
“If you’re curious, let them come in. You can ask them yourself,” I said.
She licked her lips and I went to sit down. Chester and Julianna entered the room and bowed. I nodded but said nothing. They should explain everything to me by themselves.
“Your grace, we have news,” Chester said.
I cleared my throat. If it is what Laci is thinking then could they be informing us about their marriage or relationship?
“Good or bad?” I asked.
“Both!” Chester said and pushed Julianna forward.
That was when I realized that this wasn’t a trivial issue. “What is the news?” I asked.
“Well… The good news is that we caught Koko’s kidnappers and_”
“Koko?” I sprung up from where I sat. “You found her?” I asked.
“That brings us to the bad news. Koko is missing. According to them, she escaped.” Julianna explained.
“She escaped? What sort of weird excuse is that? Where are those hoodlums? Who are they?” I yelled.
“You’ll be quite surprised if you know who they are,” Julianna said, bringing out her phone.
“Whoever it is, I will make them pay!” I snapped.
Julianna unlocked her phone and showed us a picture. I and Laci gasped at the same time.
“Henry and Scarlett?” I asked.
“Yes. While the investigations were going on and after that day I questioned him about the letter, I sent out a spy to watch, record and video his movements. From there, I got to understand that Scarlett was also involved. During that time, they were already planning on how to get rid of me and Koko.” Julianna explained.
“To get rid of you?” Laci asked.
“According to them, I have become an obstacle and Koko is a thorn in their flesh. They offered her money to forget about you and disappear, but she refused which is the reason why they want her dead. Their goal was to kill her then Scarlett will become the future Luna.” Julianna further explained.
Now it all became clear to me. The handwriting and Scarlett’s sudden care towards me. I thought she was a nice girl who only cared about me with nothing attached. I never knew she was the cause of my pain and misery. And Henry, I should have known he was a green snake in a green grass. I trusted him to take care of Koko in my absence, but what did he do? He connived with Scarlett to destroy my happiness.
“Here are some of the videos and recordings the spy sent to me.”
Julianna played them and I couldn’t help but feel more betrayed. I never knew everything they did in front of me was all an act. I could see the pain in Laci’s eyes.
“The spy I sent was able to get their location, but when I got there, I met Henry and Scarlett scolding their men for letting Koko go.”
“So, all these while, we have been dining with our enemies” Laci said.
“I will make sure they die a terrible and painful death!” I snapped. “What about Koko? How am I going to find her now?” I asked.
“I’ve sent some men out to look for her. They should be able to track down her scent.” Chester replied, but I wasn’t satisfied.
My Koko is out there and I don’t know where she is? I am pretty sure she has been starving. She is out there alone without me. She must be cold.
“Where are those betrayers?” I asked.
“We handed them over to the police,” Chester answered.
“Take me there!” I ordered.
“But, you aren’t fully recovered. Why not wait till tomorrow? Besides, it’s already dark out there.” Chester suggested, but I shook my head.
“I can’t leave this anguish in me till tomorrow. I must deal with them and deal with them well,” I said.
I took the long sleeved shirt I dropped and put it on.
“I’m coming with you,” Laci said.
“You have to wait here, Laci. I will be right back.” I said to her.
“No. I am coming with you. I also need to teach them a lesson for torturing her. She didn’t deserve that from them. She is a nice girl with a heart of gold. I want to see them suffer ten times more than Koko did.” Laci snapped.
Yeah, that was Laci. When she gets pissed beyond what she could handle, she could become ruthless. I understood her pain. She was the first friend Koko made here and she knew how Koko was.
“Let us go then,” I turned to Chester and Julianna “Please, lead the way.” I said.
They nodded and we followed them out of the palace. We entered the same car and Chester took the wheels. All through the drive, the atmosphere in the car was a tense one.
Those rascals had the guts to kidnap and torture my Koko. Gosh! I felt like tearing them to shreds.
When we got to the police station, we saw their vehicle parked at the entrance.
“It seems the police just got here,” Julianna said.
“Yes. Let’s get down.” Chester said and we all got down from the car.
I looked ahead and saw the police bringing them out of the car in handcuffs. I rushed to them, but before I could reach there, Laci was there before me and had given Scarlett two deafening slaps.
“You wench! I trusted you! How could you do that to her?!” Laci yelled, giving her another slap.
“Hit her harder! She deserves more than that!” Julianna snapped.
The police officers tried to stop her, “Stop her and say goodbye to your jobs!” I thundered and they moved back. They should allow her vent her anger and pains on them.
“I was like a sister to you, Scarlett. I treated you like a b***d sister but you stabbed me in the back.” She slapped Scarlett again.
“I’m sorry,” Scarlett said but that only infuriated her the most.
“Sorry?” She slapped Scarlett. “And you…” She turned to face Henry. Before he could open his mouth, she slapped him on both cheeks. “You betrayed us!” She grabbed him by his collar. “We left Koko in your care, but never knew you were a criminal! I trusted and defended you, Henry but what you did in return was a slap to my face. I hate you all! I want you all to die and go to hell!” She yelled, punching and kicking them.
When she had gotten everything out of her system, she turned to them, “You better look for ways of bringing Koko back, else I’ll personally kill you before your trial in court.” Her voice was icy and deadly. I have never seen this side of Laci before, but I liked it.
I took a slow but deadly step towards where they stood and punched Henry in the face. “Why did you do that? Why did you betray me?” I yelled.
“I’m sorry, Alpha. It wasn’t my intention. It was all Scarlett’s fault.” Henry said.
“My fault! Are you mad?” Scarlett yelled.
The more they talk, the more I got angry. “Shut the f**k up, you two!” I yelled and they went silent. “How could you two be so wicked and heartless? And you, Scarlett, I thought you were a nice person. So all those things you did was just an act. All those acts you put on before my mother were nothing but lies. You two used my mother’s words to frame her!” I yelled and punched Henry again.
I could see that Laci was already crying while Julianna held her.
“Where is Koko?” I asked them.
“We don’t know.” They answered and I snickered.
“I’ll make sure I make your worlds come crumbling down. Officers!” I called.
“Yes, Alpha!” They bowed.
“Make sure you give them the worst torture till they are ready to say where they kept my mate! I’ll be back by tomorrow and I better hear good news.” I ordered and they bowed. I turned to Chester and the others. “Let’s get the hell out of here.”
