Rico’s POV

After lunch I went to my office to start working on some pack work. Meditation was more of Sasha’s strongest than mine, so we decided that in the afternoons Sasha would meditate with Jess while I kept up with our beta duties. Once Jess got better at it, then we would switch on and off on who trains her and who does pack work. My wolf started pacing. ‘Sebastian? Is everything ok?’ I asked him through our link. ‘For now yes. I guess since our sisters have found their mates and so have our buddies, I just feel a bit left out.’

I understand how he feels. All my friends from my alphas to Nathan and Brandon have all found their mates in the last few days. Even little Sophie has found a mate. ‘But even though we feel lonely with no mate right now. With this William Darkwood hanging around it would be unsafe for not only a mate, but any pups we plan to have with Sasha, Jess, and I all being special wolves.’ Sebastian whimpered in agreement. I got up from my desk and grabbed my keys. Running some errands in town would both get stuff finished and keep my mind from wandering to where my mate could be.

A few hours later I get a call from Sasha. I picked it up.

R: Hey sis how is training going?

S: Well it was fine until Jess bolted, leaving me to hunt for her the last hour and now she is back with some rouge that has some information on William.

R: How do we know this rogue is not a threat to Jess or a spy.

S: Bro I already thought of that, but remember no one can lie to Jess, or lie while in her presence. So Jess wants us to have a meeting with this rogue. Who knows maybe we can get rid of William sooner with the information.

R: Yeah, your right. We need any leads we can get about William. The sooner we get rid of him the better. Then everyone can relax.

S: Yeah and my big brother can take some time off to go search for his own mate.

(I rolled my eyes. I know she is teasing me, but it still felt like someone was sprinkling some salt into my wounds of the heart.)

R: Yeah, yeah. Whatever. I will be back shortly. I am in town.

S: KK, meet us in the study.

Then she ended the call without another word. ‘Well let’s go see what new information this wolf has. I make my way back to the pack house. About 45 minutes later I am walking up the hallway to the study, when I smell something fresh and salty. Like wildflowers blooming by the ocean. Sebastian started purring and running around in my mind. ‘MATE!!’ he growled in a possessive way. I walked faster to the study and opened the door.

I saw a beautiful woman with a scar across her face, but even that looked stunning to me. She had long rosy pink hair and lite yellow eyes. Her eyes widened when she saw me enter the room. I wasted no time pulling her towards me. I buried my face in the crook of her neck and inhaled her lovely scent. It had both Sebastian and I purring with delight. “Mine!” I claimed.

She seemed relaxed, but then started to squirm. “Umm are you sure you want a mate like me?” I pulled back enough to look at her. “Why would you ask that? The Moon Goddess gave you to me and I would never let you go.” Her eyes widened even more. “Umm you might not say that in a moment.” She looked down and I was confused. “My name is Shianna Darkwood.” she said in a soft voice. I was shocked as all hell. My mate was the daughter of that bastard we are trying to kill? Was she going to hate me for helping kill her family in order to keep my luna safe?

Sasha pulled me from my thoughts. “She is here to help us kill William and Tasha.” Now I was even more shocked and looked back at her. “They need to find peace, but I am not strong enough to do it on my own. I was thinking of being a spy for the alphas and keep you all updated on his plans.” Sebastian purred in my mind and said ‘Our mate is not only strong minded, but pretty clever as well.’ I had to agree with him.

Nathan c****d his head. “How are you going to become a spy?” Sasha perked up like a light bulb went off in her head. “We could say that she either saved the luna in the woods or that Jess saved her and brought her to the pack to nurse her and inducted her into the pack.” Leo nodded and chimed in “Yes that would work. William would think that she is just using this as a ploy to keep an eye on Jess, when we are using it to keep an eye on him.” I gripped Shianna a bit tighter, to pull her closer to me. “Will you be alright with this kind of plan? I worry for your safety with that man.”

Shianna looked back at me. “As long as that man thinks I am still useful to him in any way, he will keep me alive. This little ruse would keep me off his victim list for at least 3 months since he needs someone to keep an eye on his next targets. The most he would do is sack me around or maybe give me another scar or two.” She sounded so broken and used to this treatment. That s**t was going to change and after this bastard was back to being 6 feet under. I was going to spend the rest of my life showing Shianna all the love she will ever need.
